what this is
nodu is a network of 64 machines that describe a coin's economics. the coin's price range is cut into 64 bands, stacked end to end, and each band belongs to one machine.
most tokens have tokenomics: a fee, a tax, a burn, decided once by a team. nodu has a spec instead. every node carries an eight-byte genome that describes a policy, the price decides which machine's policy is live, and trading slowly rewrites the genomes. the economics are emergent and public — computed from the chain's own trades, by rules anyone can rerun.
the lock
exactly one band contains the current price. its machine holds the lock, and its policy is the coin's policy for every trade that happens while it holds it. when the price crosses into the next band, the lock — and the economics — hand over to the next machine.
a rally walks the lock up the ladder through a run of policies; a sell-off walks it back down. holders can read ahead: the machines above and below the price are the tokenomics you get if it moves.
the ladder
bands below the price, bands above it, and exactly one in range. the ladder's bars show how much SOL it takes to trade through each band at the coin's current reserves.
the genome — eight registers
every machine stores eight bytes, read as eight registers. the inspector shows all sixty-four bits.

the policy
when a machine holds the lock, its policy for a trade is size × fee, split by weight:
w_burn = burn + 1 w_lock = lock + 1 w_pay = pay + 1 share_x = w_x / (w_burn + w_lock + w_pay) burn share → buys coin from the pool and burns it lock share → locked as liquidity, never withdrawable pay share → paid to whoever holds the machine
today the policy is computed and shown live; the coin trades on pump.fun, which charges its own fee. charging the policy on-chain comes with the nodu program — see the last section.
mutations
any trade of 1 SOL or more is a mutation attempt. its transaction signature picks one machine (sig[0] mod 64) and one of its sixty-four bits (sig[1] mod 64), and bytes 2–5 seed the shield and cascade rolls. if the shield doesn't block it, the bit flips and the machine's spec is different from that trade on.
one flip can move a fee by up to 0.51%, swing a split by tens of points, push a machine across a class line or only change how it looks. the trades log marks every attempt as landed or blocked, with a link to the trade.
mutations are weather, not a lottery: no one is paid for them and no one can aim them.
cascades
a landed flip rolls the target's link register (the value before the flip). on success the same bit is tried against one of its four mesh neighbours, which rolls its own shield. chains run at most 3 hops past the origin and never revisit a machine.
high-link, low-shield machines are contagious; high-shield machines are firewalls. nobody can edit either.
names and bodies
every machine has a fixed name — Pip, Bolt, Nib … Gear, one per band — and a 16-bit body drawn from its genome: the class picks the colour, g0 picks the shape, top piece, eyes and face, g1 the feet and accent. when a flip lands on any of those bits, the machine looks different from that block on. the name never changes.
classes
a machine's class is its dominant split register:
where the data comes from
everything on this site is the real coin. the server reads every trade from Solana in chain order — from the pump.fun bonding curve, then from the PumpSwap pool once the coin graduates — and replays it through the rules above. price, market cap and band depth come from the coin's live reserves; the lock, the policy and every mutation come from the replay. each trade links to its transaction, so anyone can check the result.
the top wallets panel shows net coin bought per wallet from those trades (transfers between wallets aren't counted) unless the site is pointed at an rpc that can list token holders, in which case it shows real holders. your wallet's sol and coin balance are read live when you connect.
what comes with the program
today nodu computes the coin's policy in public; it doesn't move money. the nodu program brings the parts that need it: machine NFTs you can own and trade, the live fee charged on-chain, the burn / lock / pay split executed every trade, and pay going to whoever holds the machine.
